He is currently chair of the British Basketball League. In December 2021 it was announced that US firm 777 Partners had bought a 45% stake in the British Basketball League for an initial sum of £7 million. This will enable the sport to begin to unlock its huge potential to grow the sport in the UK where it is the second most played sport by young people, particularly amongst the non-white community. It is also planned that the league will grow from its present ten team competition to at least fifteen teams within five years.
