  • In 2022 Sir Rodney agreed to assist Wakefield based Indie rock band Skinny Living in forming itself into a structured business in order to raise funding in support of its ambition to become a successful Indie/Folk band.

  • In 2022 Sir Rodney became chair of We Are Wakefield (formerly Wakefield Bondholders). WrW are a not-for-profit organisation whose primary purpose is to encourage collaboration between its members. At the end of 2022 WrW was the fastest growing business community in the Wakefield District.

  • A new company in which Sir Rodney holds a significant interest, Converged Technology Solutions Ltd, is helping SMEs manage the growing complexity in their IT environments.

  • Sir Rodney is Honorary Life President of the Wakefield Theatre Trust and led the campaign to raise £750,000 to enable the successful re-opening of the Theatre Royal and Opera House Wakefield in 1986.
